Everybody's talking about the exciting new features in Photoshop CS2. But you don't hear as much about the small things that have changed. Those are the things that can catch you unaware and have the potential to make you go gray prematurely. Here's a heads-up that will save you from one of those episodes. Until the new version of Photoshop came out, you could Command-click (Mac) or Control-click (Win) on a layer in the Layers palette to quickly create a selection around all the non-transparent contents of that layer. Try that in Photoshop CS2 and you'll find it no longer works. Now you have to Command or Control-click directly on the layer thumbnail to select the layer contents. Go figure.

Ive been trying to find out for some time now.
In older versions you could select layers by ctrl clicking on the object in the canvas. Now you can still do that in CS2, but if the required layer is in a folder then it selects the folder instead!!!! very anoying!

1. Thanks! I was driving myself insane trying to figure that one out. Great comment!
