Unlike the Starvingartist, I didn't like the CS icons, and I detest the new CS2 icons even more. I remember seeing this hotly debated across the net when CS originally landed, but I haven't seen too much talk of it in light of CS2's release. Has everyone else just sucked it up and dealt with it? Am I a lone whiner here?
It just seems like Adobe fired the icon guys. Don't get me wrong: they're beautiful, nay: gorgeous representations - my issue is that they're horribly un-functional as icons. In Starvingartist's post he quotes a brief explanation for each icon, explaining that the various objects (Photoshop's feather, Illustrator's flower, Indesign's butterfly and GoLive's star) have historical or astrological meanings - but they can be somewhat cryptic.
I'd much prefer to know which icon was for which app at a quick glance, rather than rooting through 6 degrees of meaning to make sure I open Photoshop instead of InDesign.

1. I don't know... it took me about 30 seconds to associate the icon with the program and I've not worried about it since. I don't see what the big deal is.
