1. If they make the upgrade cost only 100$ then I'll accept a soon release but otherwise it'll just make me feel stupid for buying CS2

2. Agreed, if Adobe was smart, they would let those who have upgraded to CS2 get accustomed and acquainted with using all of the new features of CS2 before upgrading so soon. How about instead of coming out with a complete upgrade, Adobe could come out with a patch for CS2 that would allow users of CS2 to be able to use whatever new features Adobe plans on putting into CS3, including adding the option, which can be either checked or unchecked, to be able to overhaul the user interface. And when those who use CS2 were done downloading and installing the patch, it would be called Photoshop CS2.5 or something along those lines. Seriously, Adobe, you don't need to come out with a whole other version of Photoshop, if that's all you're really gonna add to it.

3. It sounds like Adobe doesn't quite know where to go since its acquisition of Macromedia... Altough I am looking forward to CS3, if these rumors turn out to be true, like digitalsmoke says, releasing CS3 so soon risks angering CS2 upgrade customers.

On the other hand, if the enhancements are as dramatic as it sounds, it should be worth the upgrade. Besides, Adobe might -smartly- allow CS2 customers to upgrade for a discounted price, the best of both worlds.

To play the devil's advocate, it is also possible that, with Macromedia now out of the way, Adobe may become more arrogant with its quasi monopoly of imaging software, and do whatever it feels like.

Regardless, I can't wait to see the imminent CS3 if ThinkSecret is right, ("Vanishing Point 2," "significant improvements to non-destructive image editing," etc.)
