Photo Fakery - Creating and Identifying Fake Images

photo fakery

I found an interesting article titled "Photo Fakery" at OEmagazine detailing the basic ins and outs of both creating and spotting fake images. The article explains some of the specific requirements for a believable fake such as proper lighting, context, softening edges and cleaning up noise, and it also delves into some of the historically great photographic hoaxes. It's a pretty interesting read, although I do hope it doesn't open doors for the wrong people and cause more harm than good!
